Hey there! I'm Elroy. My parents pastored a church in Cebu City, Philippines where I grew up. My dad used to tell me to invest in my own spiritual life. Not just on Sunday, not just not borrowing my parents' faith, or my leaders'. But mine. Actual time with the Lord, daily.

I had the Bible, reading plans and a shelf of devotionals I'd started in January and put down by February. What I didn't have was the habit to open it.

My dad was right. But it was also harder than he made it sound. In 2014 I moved to Singapore alone, and without my parents and a church to call home, my mornings were focused on other things that demanded my time.

I don't know what season you're in. Maybe it's grief. Maybe it's the waiting kind, where nothing is wrong and nothing is moving either. Maybe you just want somewhere to put the gratitude.
